Rixe vs Semrush

Rixe and Semrush both measure how AI assistants name brands, and they are not interchangeable. What follows is what each company publishes about itself, set next to what Rixe does, so you can tell which instrument fits the question you actually have.

Why teams move to Rixe

One number you can defend

Every score carries an observation count and a confidence interval. When a prompt has been seen too few times, it shows no score at all rather than a figure nobody can stand behind.

Published pricing, whole coverage

Plans are priced on how many prompts you track. Every engine, every market and the daily refresh are in all of them, so widening coverage never changes the invoice.

Built to be handed over

A finding is only useful if someone can act on it. Every gap arrives with the sources behind it, the answer it came from, and a next step a writer or a developer can pick up.

Where Semrush is strong

Semrush is an entire SEO suite with two decades of index behind it, and its AI Visibility Toolkit is a competent add-on at $99 a month per domain. If you already live in Semrush, the data lands where you work.

Where Rixe differs

The toolkit tracks 25 custom prompts before add-ons and lists four engines. Rixe starts at 50 prompts on three engines — all eleven on Leader — and does nothing else — no backlinks, no keyword research. Most teams end up running both.

Thoughts on Rixe

It's clear that a new area is emerging in digital marketing. We used to talk about brands being discoverable in search engines; now we're asking the same question for AI systems. It's striking that Rixe is one of the products addressing this change early on. Competitor analysis, visibility tracking, and examining which topics brands are associated with are complementary features. I find it particularly interesting how this data can be linked to content strategies. In the long run, we might see AI visibility among the standard metrics marketing teams track.
AI search is becoming increasingly important. I think it makes sense for Rixe to focus on this area. Especially seeing how competitors are positioned in AI answers could be valuable for marketing teams.
There are a lot of SEO tools, but when you try to understand why your brand isn't recommended in ChatGPT, things change a bit. Rixe is shaped exactly around this problem. I think it's a good approach.

ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini, Perplexity

If you already run Semrush and want one more tab, that is the cheap answer. It is also a bolt-on to a rank-tracking product rather than a measurement built for answers.

Probably yes, and we do not replace one. Positions and answers are two different questions, and Semrush answers the first one very well.

Theirs is narrower in the published toolkit. If your buyers use Copilot, Claude or DeepSeek, that gap is the first thing to check.

Only if you run several brands or markets. A single domain is cheap there; a portfolio gets expensive faster than a per-prompt plan does.

Yes, and many teams do: rankings and crawl there, answers and the content loop here. The overlap in daily use is small.

Volume data and a crawler nobody small can match. If your reporting depends on keyword volumes or a site audit, that is a genuine reason to keep them.

Keep the rank tracker for what it is good at and buy answer measurement separately. Replacing one with the other is the mistake both sides would rather you avoid.
