What to expect when you write

One inbox, read by the people who write the code. There is no tiering here and no queue to escalate out of, which works because we are small — and when it stops working we will say so rather than quietly install a chatbot in front of it.

Useful messages usually contain three things: the domain, the market, and the question as your buyer would type it. With those we can look at the same thing you are looking at; without them the first reply is a request for them, which costs a day.

Some things are faster elsewhere. A measurement you think is wrong is best flagged from the screen it appears on, because the flag carries the evidence with it. A billing question belongs in the account, where the invoice is. Everything else, including the awkward questions, can come here.

One surface for every part of the visibility loop

Six screens carry the whole job: read the answer, score it, find the sources behind it, and turn the gap into work someone can pick up.

e.g. Why did we drop this month?

One inbox, and the person who answers it wrote the part you are asking about. There is no tiering here: support, sales, a bug and a roadmap question all land in the same place and are read by the team that builds the product. That is only workable because we are small, and it is the main reason we intend to stay that way for a while.

What to put in the first message

Not much. A domain and one sentence about what you are trying to find out gets a useful reply; a form with eleven fields would not.

Your domain

It lets us look at the same thing you are looking at before we answer, which usually turns three e-mails into one.

The question, plainly

“Do you track Perplexity in German?” beats “interested in learning more”. Short and specific is answered faster than long and polite.

How many brands and markets

One brand in one country and six brands across four markets are different conversations. Saying which one you are saves a round trip.

When to expect a reply Within a working day for most things, in the language you wrote in. If it needs a call — a rollout, procurement, a security review — we will say so and send times rather than open a thread that goes nowhere.

Thoughts on Rixe

Being well-ranked on Google is no longer the same as being recommended by ChatGPT. It's good to have tools that try to measure this difference.
Everyone in marketing talks about AI, but measurement is still a bit messy. Rixe at least provides a framework for looking at concrete data in this area. It's an approach that could be useful, especially when preparing content strategies.
I think they've focused on the right problem at the right time. I'm curious to see how the product evolves over time.

Frequently asked

The team that builds the product. One inbox handles support, sales and the roadmap, so nothing gets routed to someone who then has to ask an engineer.

Within a working day for most questions. For a rollout across several brands or markets, write to the same address and say so — that conversation starts with a call rather than a thread.

Someone who works on the product. There is no tier-one script, which is also why we do not promise an instant reply.

Usually the same working day, in Istanbul hours. If something takes longer we say why rather than sending an acknowledgement bot.

The URL, the market, and what you expected to see instead. Those three lines turn a support thread into a single reply.

No, deliberately. Written questions get written answers with the data attached, which is more useful afterwards than a call nobody wrote down.

Yes, for evaluations and onboarding. We would rather spend that call on your prompt set than on a slide about features.

Same address, and they jump the queue if something is broken rather than confusing. A screenshot and the time it happened is enough.

In the eight languages the product ships in. Anything outside that, write in English and we will manage.

Write anyway. Half of what we learn about the product comes from people who have not paid us and had a question we could not answer.

The questions your buyers are already asking
